Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday launched face recognition software to assist the police officials during their investigation.

The software could be installed both in the computers at the police stations and in the smartphones of the police personnel.

As per the report, the department also has plans to improve the software to be able to compare and identify faces through CCTV footage. It would be helpful in identifying people who were missing or being looked out for, with the help of CCTV footage collected from public places.
