Lok Sabha Polls: PMK Decides Against Going Solo, Founder Ramadoss To Decide On Alliance Partners
Anbumani Ramadoss stated that decisions for 2024 polls would be made with consideration for the 2026 Assembly polls.
The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) held a special general body meeting over the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Chennai. The meeting also discussed resolutions calling for a caste census in Tamil Nadu, tackling issues such as the Mullaperiyar Dam, the ban on online gaming, measures against the widespread sale of marijuana and concerns related to the NEET exam.
Taking to X, PMK President Dr Anbumani Ramadoss in Chennai said, "Today, the PMK held a special general body meeting in Chennai regarding Parliament elections and it was unanimously resolved that our founder Dr Ramadoss will decide on our strategy for the coming elections. Also, 25 resolutions were passed.”
“The other resolutions included that caste census should be conducted in TN, and on the issues of Mullaperiyar Dam, banning of online gaming, action against rampant sale of marijuana and NEET exam. We will take a decision for the 2024 polls, keeping in mind the 2026 Assembly polls. Our decision for Lok Sabha polls will be announced soon," she said.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Ramadoss earlier mentioned that while the party could secure at least seven Lok Sabha seats independently, the current circumstances necessitate forming alliances. Emphasizing the party's preparations for the elections over the past year, he urged party officials and members to strive for victory in at least 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.
