IMD Forecasts Rainfall In Parts Of Tamil Nadu For Next Four Days
IMD said the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in Chennai till Thursday.
Chennai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu for the next four days. The IMD also said that sky will remain cloudy in Chennai for the next 48 hours.
In a bulletin on Tuesday, IMD said, "Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamilnadu. Very light rain occurred over the Karaikal area. Dry weather prevailed over Puducherry."
On the prediction, MET said, "Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Theni, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Kallakurichi, Tirupattur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Madurai & Virudhunagar districts of Tamilnadu and Puducherry."
The rainfall is likely to continue till October 22.

In Chennai, IMD said, "Sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy. Light/moderate rain with thunderstorm & lightning is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 33-34˚C and 26-27˚C respectively."
Taking to social media Tamilnadu Weather-IMD on Wednesday said, “The Light rain very likely to occur over Aminjikarai, Egmore, Maduravoyal and Ambattur areas within next 2 hours (from 11.30 am) on Wednesday.”

On Tuesday, the highest rainfall in Tamil Nadu was received at Aranmanaipudur and Periyakulam PTO in Theni with each area receiving 13 mm each.
The fishermen were also urged not to venture into the sea towards Lakshadweep-Maldives and certain regions of Bay of Bengal as the wind is expected to blow at 45 to 65 kmph.
Meanwhile, Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh gear to witness a possible cyclonic storm as a low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal. However, IMD also clarified that it is too early to confirm that the storm will definitely form into cyclone.
