AIADMK Case Judgement: The Supreme Court held July 11 AIADMK General Council meeting appointing EPS as interim general secretary of the party as valid.

Chennai:  AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said, after the Supreme Court gave a judgment that’s considered a big win for EPS.

During a wedding ceremony in Madurai, AIADMK Interim general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami said, "Today I prayed to Jayalalithaa and MGR that on this auspicious day, I should get a good verdict. Just as prayed, within minutes, I got the good verdict with the blessings of the two leaders." 

"The wish of 1.5 crore AIADMK cadre has reflected in SC verdict. I was in doubt about how SC Judgement would be. The veils under which DMK's B team was functioning were torn by the Supreme Court's verdict. Jayalalithaa said in the Assembly that this party will rule for 100 years. This has been confirmed by the judgment of SC," said EPS.

Former Minister Jayakumar, who is a supporter of EPS said, "There is no history of Kauravas winning in war. Only Pandavas will win. No matter how matter how much they tried to trick us, we have won." 

To the question whether the win will reflect in Erode bypolls, Jayakumar said, "People are recalling the measures taken for the public during Jayalalithaa and EPS' government so they will also definitely vote for us. 

Jayakumar also clearly stated that OPS, Sasikala, TTV Dhinakaran would not be accommodated within the party again. "All party workers are happy due to today's verdict. Tomorrow is the 75th birthday of Amma (Jayalalithaa), her blessings have been showered on us. Except for O Paneerselvam, Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran, all leaders are welcomed to AIADMK," he said.

The Supreme Court held July 11 AIADMK General Council meeting as valid. The Court upheld Madras HC order which set aside August 17  single-judge order. Earlier, the single-judge order on August 17 quashed the resolution passed at AIADMK general council meeting.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court delivered the verdict while hearing a batch of pleas in connection with the tussle between two factions of the AIADMK including Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam over the leadership of the party. 

Meanwhile, AIADMK party cadre who gathered at the party office in Royapettah burst crackers and distributed sweets. Some of the cadres danced and shouted ‘Long live Edappadi’. They also hailed the Supreme Court verdict.
