WATCH: Bus Carrying Over 20 Passengers Stranded In Waterlogged Road In UP's Bijnor

A bus full of passengers became entangled in a strong river current. Some people attempted to flee through the windows, while others remained seated, appearing helpless and unable to find a way out.

As the monsoon season continues to affect various regions of India, multiple states are facing a multitude of challenges, grappling with issues such as waterlogging and landslides. Recently, a distressing incident was captured on video in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, where a bus carrying over 24 passengers found itself trapped in the relentless flow of a waterlogged road. As the water currents proved to be too strong for the vehicle to navigate through, some desperate individuals resorted to attempting escape through the windows, while others remained seated, helplessly seeking a way out.

Rescue personnel can be seen in the video footage making valiant efforts to extricate the stranded bus from the perilous situation using cranes. The heavy water flow from the nearby Kotwali River, however, proved to be a formidable obstacle, impeding their rescue efforts.

According to reports, the bus was on its way from Najibabad in Uttar Pradesh to Haridwar when the unfortunate incident occurred. The situation was undoubtedly dire and tense with over 24 passengers on board. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) official confirmed that all passengers had been successfully evacuated from the stranded bus, averting a potential tragedy, reports said.

Passengers on a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus encountered a similar precarious situation earlier this month in Dehradun, in an unrelated incident. The bus became engulfed in floodwaters, endangering the lives of those on board. Fortunately, quick thinking and resourcefulness won out, and passengers were able to save themselves by evacuating through the windows, narrowly escaping the dangerous situation. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral, emphasising the severity of the monsoon-related challenges faced across the country.
