UP Violence: CM Yogi's Stern Warning For Hooligans. Says Action Will Be Taken Under NSA, Gangster Act
237 people have been arrested from various districts of UP over Friday violence that ensued protests against controversial remarks by now-suspended BJP functionaries on Prophet Mohammad.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that those accused in the violence that erupted in several cities of the state on Friday over suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s controversial remark on the Prophet will be identified and arrested soon.
Legal action will be taken against such people under National Security Act (NSA) and Gangster Act, he added.
“Chaotic elements trying to spoil the atmosphere will be dealt with strictly. There should be no place for such people in a civilised society,” CM tweeted.
Bulldozer action against criminals/mafia will continue, Adityanath said.

He further said that no action will be taken on the house of a poor person even “by mistake”. “If any poor / helpless person has got the house constructed at an unsuitable place due to certain reasons, then proper arrangement will be done by the local administration first,” he said.
Constant communication is being made with religious leaders and civil society along with taking action against miscreants, he said. “We are citizens of a democratic country. In such a situation, we have to maintain dialogue with all the parties. Along with maintaining constant communication with religious leaders / civil society, action against miscreants will also be continued,” he added.
