RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary Denies Possibility Of Post-Poll Alliance With BJP After Shah’s Meeting With Jat Leaders

RLD chief Jayan Chaudhary’s comment came a day after Union Minister Amit Shah had a meeting with the Jat leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday where he denied any possibility of a post-poll alliance.

New Delhi: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections that are due in a couple of weeks, making coalitions and leaving parties is an everyday affair. Amid this chaos of joining and leaving parties, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary had denied the possibility of joining hands with BJP altogether, reported news agency ANI.

Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayan Chaudhary’s comment came a day after Union Minister Amit Shah had a meeting with the Jat leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday where he denied any possibility of a post-poll alliance.

“They (BJP) did nothing for farmers. The police force was used against students in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh two days back. In such an environment, how can they think that anyone would join hands with them?” Chaudhary said.

Amit Shah held the meeting at BJP MP Parvesh Verma’s residence in Delhi. Shah later said that BJP doors are always open for RLD. Post the meeting, Verma also said, “On (RLD chief) Jayant Chaudhary, he (HM Amit Shah) said that there are many possibilities after the polls. For now, he has chosen a party. People of the Jat community will speak to Jayant. BJP's doors are always open for him.”

Speaking about the invitations, Chaudhary tweeted, “Don't give this invitation to me. Give it to all those 700 farmers' families whose houses you have destroyed.”

Meanwhile, there are also speculations on the RLD-SP alliance. On the other hand, Amit Shah will be beginning with campaigning for the upcoming UP polls this week. The above-mentioned meeting also included the leaders from constituencies that will be going to the polls on February 10.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan and BJP MP Satyapal Singh. Western Uttar Pradesh BJP leaders Mohit Beniwal and Captain Abhimanyu were also present at the meeting along with 200 Jat community leaders.
