'Not Much Difference Between Rahul Gandhi & Akhilesh Yadav': Yogi Adityanath's Jibe At SP Chief
Yogi Adityanath made the remark during discussion on the budget in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly saying that one criticises the country abroad while other speaks ill about UP outside the state.
New Delhi: Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s recent anecdote of a student mistaking him for Rahul Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Tuesday said that there is not much difference between the two leaders, reported news agency PTI.
While one criticises the country abroad, the second one speaks ill about Uttar Pradesh outside the state, alleged Adityanath swiping both Congress and SP leaders.
The chief minister’s remark came during the discussion on the budget in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly saying that children are innocent and the student, whom Yadav had referred to, must have said this after some thinking.
"There is not much difference between them (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav)...while one criticises the country abroad, the other one flays UP outside the state," the chief minister said, drawing laughter from the treasury benches.

Leader of Opposition in UP Vidhan Sabha, Akhilesh Yadav was also present in the house when Adityanath made the statement.
When the members from the treasury benches laughed at this, Yadav responded by saying: "They are not sad about the level of education in the state, but because I took the name of the Congress leader."
Deploring the quality of education in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav had on Monday recounted the day he was confused with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by a child during his visit to a school.

The SP supremo had said this while addressing the state assembly during the discussion on the state budget.
Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi had joined hands during the 2017 UP Assembly election but the alliance could not take on the BJP. In recent UP elections the Congress went for a lone fight and the SP had forged alliance with Jayant Chaudhary-led RLD. While SP managed to increase its seat share from the last time, it could not dislodge the saffron party.
