'Dead' BJP Leader Regains Consciousness Just Before Cremation In Agra: Report

In a stunning turn of events, Mahesh Baghel, the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president of Uttar Pradesh's Agra district, defied medical odds by making an astonishing revival mere hours after being pronounced dead by doctors. Baghel's resurgence occurred on Monday (August 7), catching his grieving relatives off-guard as they were preparing for his cremation, Times Of India reported.

The incident unfolded at a private hospital in the city of Agra. Following a decline in his health on Sunday night, Baghel was urgently taken to Pushpanjali Hospital for medical intervention. However, doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead after a series of preliminary assessments, citing organ failure as the cause, as per the report.

The situation took an extraordinary turn on Monday when Baghel's family transported his body to their residence in the Sarai Khwaja locality, where his kin detected subtle signs of "movement" within his body, according to the report.

In a bewildering twist, Mahesh Baghel displayed signs of life approximately 30 minutes after his apparent declaration of death by medical practitioners. This astonishing development, akin to a miracle, left his family and community astonished. His son, Abhishek Baghel, along with another son, Ankit Baghel, recounted the surreal experience of witnessing their father regain consciousness and open his eyes, the report said.

Lakhan Singh, Baghel's brother, expressed his incredulity, stating, "My brother showed signs of life 30 minutes after he was declared dead by doctors. It is a miracle that he is alive," he was quoted as saying by Times Of India.

Promptly responding to this unexpected twist of fate, Mahesh Baghel was expeditiously transferred to another private hospital in New Agra, where he currently remains under medical observation. Physicians at the facility have identified a chest infection and are meticulously examining his condition, the report stated.

The news of Mahesh Baghel's revival spread rapidly across social media platforms, initially spreading the news of his demise and subsequently witnessing a flood of condolences and tributes from well-wishers. The community's sentiments swiftly shifted towards fervent prayers for Baghel's rapid recovery and restoration to health.
