'Fragments Of Idols Found During ASI Survey': Hindu Side's Lawyer On Gyanvapi Mosque Row

A lawyer from the Hindu side has claimed that fragments of idols have been found during ASI's survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque complex.

Fragments of idols have allegedly been found in the Gyanvapi Mosque complex during the survey which is being conducted by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Sudhir Tripathi, a lawyer of the Hindu side claimed on Saturday while talking to the media. "Not idols, but remains of fragmented idols have been found," he said. He added that they (the Hindu side) are hopeful that idols will also be found during the survey. While talking about the areas of focus during the survey, he said that the ASI is currently focusing more around wuzu khana (ablution area), where the alleged Shivling was found, and the place where they (Muslims) offered prayers.

While talking to ANI, Tripathi said, "Not idols, but remains of fragmented idols have been found. We are quite hopeful that idols will also be recovered. The survey is focused more around wuzu khana (ablution area), where the Shivling was found and the place where they (Muslims) offered prayers."

Tripathi talked about the discoveries so far and claimed that artefacts such as, "Urns, Worship Bells, Swastik, Om, etc have been found."

Another lawyer of the Hindu side named Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi while talking to the media said, "The ASI team is conducting a survey in the central dome of the mosque complex, where they have begun imaging and mapping. The ASI team has entered the 'Tehkhana' (basement), which is under the possession of the Vyas family, but has not entered the other basement."
