'BJP & RSS Has Nothing To Do With Freedom Struggle,' Says Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav claimed that BJP and RSS had nothing to do with the freedom movement. The BJP never had anything to do with martyrdom, so how could we expect them to respect martyrs?

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the BJP on the occasion of 'August Kranti Diwas', claiming that BJP and its parent organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had nothing to do with the freedom movement.

In a statement issued from the SP headquarters on Monday, Yadav said, "BJP and its parent organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had nothing to do with the freedom movement. The organizing of Kakori martyr memorial in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is a pretense by BJP".

The BJP had organised a salutation programme for the martyrs on Monday.

"It is highly condemnable to humiliate the wife and sons of a Pulwama attack martyr in Agra a day before August Kranti Diwas by not allowing them to meet the Chief Minister in regards to the fulfillment of announcements made for the martyrs," the SP chief added.

BJP knows nothing about martyrdom - Akhilesh Yadav

"The BJP knows nothing about martyrdom, what does it know to respect the martyrs. BJP has always worked against social harmony and like the British, the BJP has always been trying to disintegrate the society. We need to be vigilant against them." Yadav said.

"The dream of the martyrs of the August Revolution was to establish the farmers, labourers and youth as the real rulers of the country so that everyone can have equal rights and respects and it is the responsibility of the Samajwadi Party to realize this dream," he added.

The SP chief said that the Samajwadi Party has the vibrancy and strength of young leadership. The strength of Samajwadi Party lies in the youth and farmers who do not hesitate to fight for financial, social and political changes.

''The Samajwadi Party is committed to saving constitutional values and ensuring a prosperous and safe life for every citizen of the country, in the era where conspiracies are being made to destroy the diversity of the country," Yadav said.
