Ram Mandir Inauguration: Temple Trust Releases Schedule Of Pre-Ceremony Rituals, Other Details

Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust overseeing the construction of the Ram Temple, on Monday, disclosed the schedule for the upcoming 'Prana Pratishtha' ceremony and its related rituals. The event is set to take place on the auspicious day of 'Paush Shukla Kurma Dwadashi', falling on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the temple premises.

According to the Ram Temple Trust, adhering to 'Shastriya' protocols, the 'Prana Pratistha' programme will be conducted during the 'Abhijeet Muhurta' in the afternoon. The formal procedures for pre-Prana Pratishtha sacraments are scheduled to commence on January 16, continuing until January 21, 2024. Click here to read more.

  1. Event Date and Venue:

    • The auspicious 'Prana Pratishtha' yoga of the Deity of Bhagwan Shri Ram Lalla will occur on 'Paush Shukla Kurma Dwadashi', Vikram Samvat 2080, falling on Monday, January 22, 2024.
  2. Scriptural Protocols and Pre-Ceremony Rituals:

    • Following 'Shastriya' protocols, the ceremony will take place in the Abhijeet Muhurta in the afternoon.
    • Formal pre-'Prana Pratistha; sacraments will be observed from January 16 to January 21.
    • Dwadash Adhivas protocols include:
      • 16th January: Prayaschita and Karmakuti Poojan
      • 17th January: Parisar Pravesh of the Murti
      • 18th January (Evening): Teerth Poojan, Jal Yatra, and Gandhadhivas
      • 19th January (Morning): Aushadhadhivas, Kesaradhivas, Ghritadhivas
      • 19th January (Evening): Dhanyadhivas
      • 20th January (Morning): Sharkaradhivas, Phaladhivas
      • 20th January (Evening): Pushpadhivas
      • 21st January (Morning): Madhyadhivas
      • 21st January (Evening): Shaiyadhivas

As mentioned by the trust, the ceremony will witness the participation of 121 Acharyas overseeing the rituals, led by Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and the principal Acharya, Luckshmikant Dixit of Kashi.

Distinguished guests, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS Chief Shri Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, are expected to grace the occasion.

"Representing the rich diversity of Bharatiya spiritualism, the event will host Acharyas from various schools, traditions, and sects, along with figures from more than 50 Adivasi, Girivasi, Tatavasi, Dwipavasi tribal traditions," the trust said. 

In a historic moment, tribal communities from hills, forests, coastal belts, and islands will be represented, marking a unique inclusion in the recent history of Bharat, the trust said.
