UP Police On Alert In 7 Districts Along Nepal Border Ahead Of Ayodhya Event
Uttar Pradesh police has intensified its vigilance in seven districts of the state ahead of consecration ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
The Uttar Pradesh police has sounded security alert in all the seven districts of the state along the border of Nepal and intensified its vigilance ahead of the the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ or the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, senior police officials, according to IANS.
The officials said movement at the border was under stern vigilance to check suspicious people crossing it and to restrict smuggling.
The police teams are also using drones to keep a vigil at unconventional routes in order to keep a check on suspicious movement of people, the officials said further.

Earlier, Gorakhpur Zone Additional Director General of Police (ADG), KSP Kumar visited Sonauli border and examined security measures ahead of the Ram Temple event.
The ADG also held a meeting with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) which guards the India-Nepal border. “Joint patrolling by the UP Police and the SSB has been intensified across the Nepal border, in Bahraich and other six districts sharing borders with Nepal,” said Kumar.
A total of seven districts of Uttar Pradesh are located along the Nepal border which include Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthanagar, and Maharajganj.

Ahead of the mega event in the holy Hindu town, authorities are taking all the necessary steps to ensure security in the region and the state.
On Wednesday, the Central Industrial Security Force took charge of the Ayodhya airport security with the deployment of more than 150 personnel. A formal induction ceremony was held at the airport on Wednesday for inducting the CISF squad, reported PTI, adding representatives from the airline operators and various stakeholders were also present during the occasion, the spokesperson said.
