'I Fulfil The Pledge I Take': PM Modi Launches Projects Worth Rs 5950 Cr On Day 1 Of Gujarat Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched multiple development projects on Day 1 of his Gujarat visit worth Rs 5,950 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth Rs 5,950 crore in the Mehsana district of the state, on the first day of his two-day visit. He said the projects would strengthen the farmers and would boost connectivity in the district. The PM also said that he fulfills the pledges that he takes and that "people know" about it.

"People know that when I take any pledge, I fulfil it...Rapid development of the country is due to stable government," PM Modi said, as quoted by PTI.

PM Modi began his visit by offering prayers at the Ambaji temple in Banaskantha district. Addressing people here on the occasion, PM Modi said that Govind Guruji's whole life was spent for the independence of India and service of the Tribal community.

"His service and nationalism were so strong that he started a tradition of sacrifices and he became a symbol of sacrifices. Last year, our government developed the Mangarh Dham on a national level..." he said. The Prime Minister further said that he had the chance to visit the Ambaji Temple before coming for the event.

"... The way the 'Gabbar' (a small hillock to the west of Ambaji village believed to be the original seat of the goddess) is being developed, I spoke about it in the 'Mann ki Baat' yesterday... Today developmental projects worth Rs. 6000 crore have been announced... These projects will strengthen the farmers... These will create connectivity with the whole country... All districts around Mehsana would be benefitted because of these projects...." the PM said.

He said that India's landing on the Moon is being hailed across the country and the world is amazed at how India organised the G20 summit.
