Tripura CM Manik Saha announced that all the educational institutions across the state will remain closed until further notice due to the flood crisis in the state.

Tripura Flood Crisis: As the unrelenting rainfall continued to batter Tripura, worsening the ongoing flood situation, the state government announced the complete closure of all educational institutions, including government, government-aided, and private, until further notice.
Tripura CM Manik Saha made the announcement on X and wrote: "Due to the current flood situation, it has been decided that all educational institutions, including Government, Government-aided, and private (Schools, Colleges and State run universities) will remain closed until further notice. A formal notification will be issued shortly".

Earlier today, CM Saha stated that the NDRF teams had arrived in Tripura with relief materials and disaster management equipment to assist the government in undertaking flood relief operations.
He also stated in a post on X that the rescue operations are underway for which the government has deployed an MI-17 helicopter to Amarpur to evacuate the stranded persons.

On Wednesday, CM Manik Saha was seen travelling in a rescue boat from his residence to take stock of the flood situation. He even spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the state's crippled condition, requesting him to deploy additional NDRF teams.
Following this, four additional NDRF teams arrived in the state to assist in the rescue operations.
At least 10 people have been killed in landslides and other flood-related incidents such as drowning, while thousands have been displaced in Tripura.
Altogether 32,750 people have taken shelter in 330 relief camps, a government release said on Wednesday. It also stated that Tripura has witnessed around 1,990 landslides that has disrupted road connectivity. Besides this, the heavy rain in the state also affected its healthcare services and power lines.
