Mumbai Hit-And-Run Accused Had 12 Large Pegs Of Whiskey With Friends, Drank At 2 Place Before Crash
Mumbai Hit-And-Run: Mumbai police suspect that the accused, Mihir Shah lied about his age at the bar to consume hard drinks.
The accused in Mumbai's Worli hit-and-run case, Mihir Shah had consumed 12 large pegs of whiskey with his friends before he crashed his BMW into a couple riding a two-wheeler, killing the wife. Based on the bill paid at the bar, excise officials alleged that Mihir and his two friends chugged around four pegs each. This quantity can keep one intoxicated for eight hours, said the officials.
The excise officials further said that Mihir and his friends left the bar at 1:30 am on Sunday and the accident took place at around 5 am, within four hours of intoxication, reported the Times of India.
Moreover, sources told ABP News that before the mishap, Mihir consumed alcohol at two places. First, he consumed alcohol at Juhu's Vice Global Tapas Bar and again drank at a place between Malad and Borivali.
The Mumbai police also said they suspect that the accused misled the Juhu bar about his age so that he could buy 'hard drinks' (alcoholic drinks).
As per the state regulations, only individuals aged 25 and above can consume or be served whisky, rum, vodka, or similar Indian-made foreign liquor (IFML).
According to a source within the bar, Mihir showed his identity card as per which he was 27 years old while the friends accompanying him were over 30 years. His Facebook account also shows him to be 27 years old. However, a police official told ABP News that records reveal that he is 23 years old.

Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, was killed in the accident while her husband Pradeep Nakhwa sustained injuries. The CCTV footage of the incident was produced by the police in court revealing that the victim was dragged for around 1.5 kilometres.
According to Worli police, Mihir and his driver Rajrishi Bidawat — who was with him at the time of the accident — were taken to the accident site where the entire crime scene was created.
The accused, who was arrested on Tuesday, has confessed to the crime and said he repented for his act. Both Mihir and Bidawat are currently in the custody of Mumbai police.
