Last week, a morning accident on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway near the Navale Bridge caused a major traffic jam but resulted in no fatalities. A cement-laden truck lost control and flipped, crushing a four-wheeler and damaging another. The collision happened around 10:30 AM, during peak commuting hours.

According to the PTI report, heavy traffic caused a signal to be activated beneath the Navale Bridge. The cement truck was travelling from Katraj to the Navale Bridge when its brakes failed just after crossing the signal near the Navale Bridge. The truck driver, unable to control the vehicle, watched as it overturned on the main road. From behind, the overturned truck collided with a four-wheeler, causing severe damage to the car. Both the four-wheeler and two-wheeler drivers were injured in the accident and were taken to a private hospital for treatment, the report said.

The Sinhagad Traffic Police were immediately notified of the accident. According to Assistant Police Inspector Pandurang Waghmare of the Sinhagad Traffic Department, a Sinhagad police team was dispatched to the scene. The overturned truck was moved to the side of the road with the help of a crane, allowing traffic to resume, it said.
