Karnataka Cricket Association Moves HC To Quash FIRs In Bengaluru Stampede Case
Karnataka High Court is set to hear the plea by Karnataka State Cricket Association on Friday afternoon, with the matter listed before Justice Krishna Kumar.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking the quashing of FIRs lodged against it in connection with the tragic stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed 11 lives and left over 50 injured.
KSCA President Raghuram Bhat, Secretary A. Shankar, and Treasurer E.S. Jairam are the petitioners in the case. The High Court is set to hear the plea this afternoon, with the matter listed before Justice Krishna Kumar. The plea contended that the FIR against them was a "knee-jerk" reaction by law enforcement, allegedly influenced by pressure from the state government.
"There is absolutely no wrong that can be attributed to the petitioner committee or its office bearers. Despite having shown gratitude by offering compensation independently, the KSCA and its members have been subjected to undue hardship," the petition stated, as per a report on PTI.
Meanwhile, a petition filed by Nikhil Sosale and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was also heard on Friday but the court deferred the proceedings, adjourning the matter to Monday without issuing any orders.
