Camera Hidden In Andhra Women's Hostel Toilet? Students Claim Videos Were Sold

A group of female students of Gudlavalleru Engineering College claimed that they discovered the concealed camera in their washroom on the evening of August 29, leading to immediate alarm.

The students of Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, staged a protest alleging the presence of a hidden camera in the women's hostel washroom. The students claimed that the camera had been secretly recording videos, which were later leaked and sold to some individuals, sparking outrage and concern throughout the campus.

A group of female students, according to NDTV claimed that they discovered the concealed camera in their washroom on the evening of August 29, leading to immediate alarm. The discovery triggered a protest that began around 7 p.m. and continued until the following morning, with students demanding swift action and accountability from the college administration.

Gudlavalleru Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana stated, "No hidden cameras have been found on the premises so far, but the investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited."

The police have also detained a BTech student and seized his laptop and cell phones. According to the students, a female student helped him set up a camera in the women's hostel washroom. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has called for an investigation and instructed Director Collector Kollu Ravindra and the SP to visit the college and conduct an inquiry, as reported by Deccan Chronicle.

On Friday, Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh ordered an enquiry into the issue. Taking to X, the Minister said, "I have ordered an enquiry on hidden cameras allegations. Stringent action will be taken against the culprits and people responsible. I directed officials to ensure that these kinds of incidents do not recur in colleges."
