Who Is Kapil Parmar? India's Bronze Medalist At Paris Paralympics 2024
Kapil Parmar is a 24-year-old para athlete from India, who contests in the Para Judo sport, and is currently ranked number 1 in the world in the 60kg J1 category. The Lucknow-based athlete created history at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024 by winning India's first ever medal in the Para Judo sport.
Kapil Parmar did not have a pleasent childhood, as he was subject to controversies and was often induged in fights at school.
"I came to this sport because I was always fighting with my friends at school, and my teachers told me that I should pick a sport to spend my energy in the best way possible," said the Para Judo athlete, as reported by Olympics citing IBSA Sport.
The advice from his teachers proved to be a boon for India, as the nation now bags yet another medal at Paris Paralympics 2024, and extend their tally to 25 medals.
Kapil Parmar's ambition was represent India at the Paralympic Games 2024, and the Para athlete has now realised his dream, under coach Munawar Anzar Ali Siddiqui.
