The Indian thrower is the reigning, defending Olympic champion, as he bagged the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

After 3 years and 1 day, the 26-year old will be looking to repeat his antics of Tokyo, as it was the date of August 7, 2021, when Neeraj Chopra became the first-ever Indian athlete to win an individual Olympic gold medal in the Track and Field events.

 

However, up against him will be the likes of Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, and Anderson Peters of Grenada, who has a personal best of 93.07, and might pull off an upset to dent India's best hopes for a gold medal at this year's Games.
