Lovlina Borgohain, the Indian boxer who won a bronze medal in the Welterweight category at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, is aiming to leave a mark at Paris Olympics 2024 as well. Competing in the women’s 75kg event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Borgohain has rapidly ascended through the international boxing ranks. Borgohain is set to be the lone entrant to Paris Games from the state of Assam and will eye a higher finish than the Tokyo Olympics.
Born on October 2, 1997, Lovlina Borgohain won a bronze medal in the women’s 69kg category at Tokyo 2020 but has since moved up to the 75kg category after her original division was removed from the Paris 2024 programme.

Lovlina Borgohain Eyes Podium Finish At Paris 2024 After World Championship Gold
Following her impressive Olympic performance, the Indian boxer, who is also an Arjuna Award and Khel Ratna awardee, clinched gold at the 2022 Asian Boxing Championships. Despite a setback at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she did not secure a podium finish, Lovlina bounced back by winning gold at the 2023 World Boxing Championships in New Delhi and a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. This puts her in great stead to win another Olympic medal, or ideally, a gold.
