RCB Clinches Maiden IPL Title
Royal Challengers Bangalore have finally etched their name in IPL history, lifting their maiden trophy after an 18-year-long wait. In a high-octane final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB edged out Punjab Kings by 6 runs to claim the 2025 IPL crown, sending their fans into a frenzy.
Balanced Batting Effort Takes RCB to 190
Opting to bat first after losing the toss, RCB posted 190/9 in their 20 overs. While Virat Kohli top-scored with 43 off 35 balls, his innings was more cautious than aggressive. Valuable contributions came from Mayank Agarwal (24), Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25), Jitesh Sharma (24), and Romario Shepherd (17), ensuring RCB reached a competitive total.
Punjab Falls Short Despite Shashank's Heroics
Punjab Kings began the chase positively, with Priyansh Arya (24) and Prabhsimran Singh (26) setting the tone. Josh Inglis added crucial runs with a fluent 39 off 23 balls. However, quick wickets in the middle overs saw Punjab lose momentum. Nehal Wadhera (15) and Marcus Stoinis (6) couldn’t convert their starts.
Shashank Singh nearly turned the game on its head with a brilliant unbeaten 61 off just 30 deliveries, laced with 3 fours and 6 sixes. Despite his late fireworks, Punjab Kings fell short, finishing at 184/6.
With this 6-run win, RCB have finally broken the jinx and secured their first IPL title.
