S.P. Balasubrahmanyam Passes Away: Sports Fraternity Pays Tribute To The Legendary Singer

The sports fraternity has expressed grief at the passing away of legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, who was hospitalised in August after testing positive for the dreaded Coronavirus. Balasubrahmanyam died on Friday afternoon in a Chennai hospital where he was being treated for Covid-19 since last month. The famous playback singer reportedly did well initially but later was put on a ventilator and ECMO support. The 74-year-old recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 languages over five decades and was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2001.
