RCB vs DC IPL 2024: Things got light as Delhi Capitals' pacer Ishant Sharma and Royal Challengers Bangalore's batter Virat Kohli found themselves engaged in on-field banter.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered their fifth consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 by defeating Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in the 62nd match of the tournament. With the win, RCB keep their hopes and chances of qualifying to the IPL 2024 playoffs alive. However, they need a few things to go their way. What caught the attention of many during the RCB vs DC match was the light-natured banter between RCB’s Virat Kohli and Delhi’s Ishant Sharma.

Both hailing from Delhi, Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma have spent quite some time together during their formative years in Delhi. Both of them also went along to make their respective debuts for India around the same time. During the RCB vs DC IPL 2024 match, both had multiple moments of light-hearted banter. 

Ishant Sharma began his second over with Virat Kohli striking him for a boundary and a six, prompting a brief exchange of words between the fast bowler and the batter. However, Ishant had the final say as, two deliveries later, Kohli nicked a wide ball to the wicketkeeper, departing for 26 runs. Ishant celebrated with elation before engaging in a friendly exchange with Ishant Sharma. The pacer then halted in front of Kohli, giving him a tug in celebration.

Virat Kohli Gives It Back To Ishant Sharma

Later in the match, as Delhi Capitals lost wickets at regular intervals during their pursuit of 188 runs, Ishant Sharma entered the crease at number 11, greeted by Kohli's applause, again exchanging light-hearted banter.

Subsequently, while shining the cricket ball, Kohli approached Ishant, stood at the non-striker's end, and exchanged a few words with his old friend. Ishant responded with few words before the RCB opener erupted into laughter.
