The upcoming season of Indian Premier League, IPL 2023, will be played this year in its original home-away format. The much-loved T20 mega tournament will kick off on March 31.
IPL 2023 opener will be played between five-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and defending champions Gujarat Titans. Last year, Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans won 10 of their 14 matches in group stage, eventually defeating Rajasthan Royals in summit clash to win IPL trophy while playing their maiden season.

Hardik Pandya, after being sidelined from team India for almost two years due to his back and leg injuries, made an inspiring comeback to the national team by leading Gujarat Titans to a historic title win last year. His heroics in IPL 2022 not only helped him get acknowledged as one of the best all-rounders in the world but also as an able captain.
Many believe that after ODI World Cup 2023, set to be played in India this year, Hardik will most likely replace Rohit Sharma as India's white-ball skipper.
