Each team is permitted to assemble a squad comprising 18 to 25 players. Out of these, a maximum of 8 overseas players is allowed. This regulation provides franchises to create a strong blend of domestic and international talent.

IPL 2025 Auction base price categories

For IPL 2025 auction, players have been listed under various base price categories. A total of 81 players have their base price set at INR 2 crore, while 27 players are listed at INR 1.5 crore. 18 players are priced at INR 1.25 crore and 23 players at INR 1 crore. 92 players have set their base price at INR 75 lakh, 8 players at INR 50 lakh, and 5 players at INR 40 lakh. The largest group consists of 320 players, each with a base price of INR 30 lakh.
