IPL 2022: Hardik Pandya Reacts After Being Named Ahmedabad Captain - Watch

Hardik Pandya, one of the most talented all-rounders in the world, took to Twitter to post a video and say that he's super excited to start his new journey as captain of Ahmedabad in IPL 15.

New Delhi: The official names of two brand new IPL teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, are yet to be revealed, but the franchises have announced their three draft picks ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The two new IPL teams have also disclosed names of their respective captains and the amount of money being paid to the players to join the teams.

Ahmedabad IPL team announced they have roped in all-rounder Hardik Pandya, spinner Rashid Khan and young team India opener Shubman Gill for IPL 2022. The Ahmedabad franchise also confirmed Hardik Pandya as the captain of their team.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, one of the most talented all-rounders in the world, took to Twitter to post a video and say that he's super excited to start his new journey as captain of Ahmedabad in IPL 15.

“Hello Ahmedabad. Super excited to start this new journey in the new IPL team Ahmedabad. Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the owners, management for putting their faith in me as a captain of this team,” Hardik said in the video.

The Ahmedabad IPL team will pay Rs 15 crore each to Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan and Rs 8 crore to Shubman Gill to play for them in IPL 2022.

“It’s a new era for us and I am excited what lies ahead. What I can promise you is this team will always fight and give it their all. A big welcome to Rashid and Shubman as well, two players whom I know extremely well and will bring a lot to our table. See you soon,” the he added.

Talking about Lucknow, the franchise has bagged KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore, Marcus Stoinis for Rs 9.2 crore and young Indian uncapped spinner Ravi Bishnoi for Rs 4 crore.
