Former India Cricketer Sravanthi Naidu's Mother Succumbs To Covid-19
A few days ago, Vidya Yadav had tagged Virat Kohli in a tweet, in which he sought help for Shravanthi. Virat Kohli was prompt to send help to Naidu who has already spent Rs. 16 lakh on the treatment of her mother.
Despite all the help, former India women's cricketer Sravanthi Naidu' mother S.K. Suman passed away on Saturday due to Coronavirus, according to a report in SPORTSTAR. Sravanthi Naidu’s mother, SK Suman had contracted Covid-19 and was battling the virus since the past few days. Team India skipper Virat Kohli had donated 6.77 lakh rupees for the treatment of Naidu's mother.
According to SPORTSTAR, the hospital, where Suman was being treated, waived of a bill of 5.28 lakhs before discharging KS Suman. N Vidya Yadav, former BCCI South Zone convenor (women’s cricket) thanked the Telangana government for this gesture.
She said SK Suman, mother of KS Shravanthi Naidu, was discharged at the request of the family despite her condition being critical. “Honestly, I was amazed at his spontaneous gesture. Such a great gesture from such a great cricketer. I am also grateful to the Indian fielding coach R. Sridhar who also took up the issue with Kohli,” Vidya said while speaking to Sportstar.
Virat and Anushka had also started a fundraiser
Virat and Anushka started a fundraiser campaign on May 7. The couple collaborated with crowd-funding platform Ketto for the campaign #InThisTogether and donated Rs 2 crore towards the initiative. They had aimed to raise Rs 7 crore for Covid relief in India.
