Premier League 24/25: Jarrod Bowen Scores Injury-Time Winner; Red Devils Continue Miserable Run

West Ham United Beat Manchester United: The Hammers record their third league win of the season with defeat of Red Devils in London. Read below for more.

West Ham United Beat Manchester United: Manchester United's miserable 2024/25 season continues to add more woes, as the 'Red Devils' have recorded their 4th league defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss away at West Ham United.

'The Hammers' completely hammered Erik Ten Hag's side, as the fixture witnessed three late goals to put an end to the proceedings, and with that, West Ham United continue their winning streak at home against Manchester United.

The first-half produced no promise, as both sides were lacking composure and clinicalness up-front and after a period of dull gameplay, the deadlock was finally broken in the 74th minute.

A brilliant move from West Ham United which involved Jarrod Bowen’s blistering run and cross, which was horribly miscued by Danny Ings, but somehow managed to find Crysencio Summerville near the far post, who scored a tap-in to make it 1-0 for the home side.

The lead lasted merely 7 minutes, as Casemiro did well to guide the misplaced header of Joshua Zirkzee back into the net, and things were levelled 1-1 at the 81st minute.

The biggest controversy of the match came in the 90th minute, as Matthijs De Ligt's challenge inside the box was checked by the VAR, eho then overturned the referee's decision to award a penatly to the home side, a decision which baffled Manchester United's staff.

Jarrod Bowen did exceptionally well to slot the spot kick into the bottom-right corner and West Ham United restored their one-goal lead.

At the full-time whistle, it ended 2-1 in favour of the home side, as the 'Red Devils' could not capitalise on the added time give to them, which stretched till the 104th minute.

Erik Ten Hag Comments On His Side's Loss To West Ham United

Erik Ten Hag's days as Machester United manager are seemingly getting numbered, after a string of poor results and performances this season. The Dutch manager has won two trophies at Old Trafford in his first two seasons, but the club has done severely bad in the league.

Speaking after the defeat, the Manchester United manager stated that wins act as a motivational fuel and that, the side will bounce back from the loss.

"When you are winning games, it's a motivation, it's fuel, and that gives a team confidence and strong belief, and then you can make steps forward. And now we say where we are, we go back and we have to deal with this disappointment and this frustation. But we will do, we ar strong, the staff are strong, the players are strong, and we will keep fighting for Manchester United, and we will go again on Wednesday," said Erik Ten Hag.
