Manchester City Vs Everton - Match Report
Manchester City has been on a perfect note since the turn of the calendar year as 2024 as seen Pep Guardiola's side register 10 wins out of 10 fixtures in all competitions this season. The Cityzens were hopeful of seeing Haaland finally break his drought but an average showing in a goalless first half started disappointing the City faithful.
The second half saw few changes as Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and Bernardo Silva were brought into the action few minutes into the second half. Constant pressure from City couldn't break Everton's resilience until the 71st minute, as Nathan Ake provided a scrappy assist Erling Haaland to breach the defence of the visitors' defence.
A deflated and tired Everton tried to press up the field and maintain a high line but legendary midfielder Kevin De Bruyne continued his excellent form since returning from injury, as the Belgian assisted Haaland for his second goal in the 85th minute, as Man City won 2-0 and are now top of the table.
