FIFA World Cup 2022: The "Argentine" underground station was temporarily renamed "France" by the Paris Metro, who covered up the name with banners reading "Allez les Bleus" (Go the Blues).
Ahead of the final clash between France and Argentina in FIFA World Cup 2022 taking place tonight at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar on Sunday, the name of the "Argentine" station on the capital's metro was hidden, reported Reuters.

"I'm sure that France is going to win, it's a close-knit team with a young spirit and they have the potential to win," French citizen Xavier Grand-Jacquot was quoted as saying by Reuters in a wintry Paris. "It's a spectacular team and they're going to go all the way."

As a precaution, stores along the elegant Champs Elysees, which are likely to be the center of a celebration in the event of victory, shuttered their windows.
"Let's do it again?" After France beat Morocco in the semi-finals, President Emmanuel Macron, who was in Doha for the final, tweeted a video of the celebrations in the locker room afterward.
In the 1978 FIFA World Cup, Argentina and France were in the same group and in their match back then, Argentina defeated France 2-1. Both teams also locked horns in the previous edition of FIFA World Cup in Russia, in 2018, which France won 4-3.
