Diego Maradona, one of the greatest footballers of all time, died at the age of 60, plunging his sport and his native Argentina into mourning. According to news agency AFP, Maradona will be laid to rest in the Jardin de Paz cemetery, where his parents were also buried. Maradona, who played four FIFA World Cups, led Argentina to victory in the 1986 World Cup under his captaincy. He celebrated his 60th birthday on 30 October.
The football icon died yesterday November 25th, 2020, after suffering a cardio-respiratory arrest at his home in the Tigre district on the northern outskirts of Buenos Aires in Argentina.

For a long time, Maradona was reportedly struggling with alcohol addiction and obesity. Two weeks earlier, he had to undergo surgery due to a clot in his brain. The legendary footballer was recently discharged from the hospital eight days after a brain operation. His doctor had said that even small amounts of alcohol consumption could be fatal for him.
