WATCH: Sanju Samson stuns crowd with superlative fileding effort
New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders registered a thumping victory against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi on Monday. Delhi daredevils, batting first, managed to put 168 runs with 19-year-old Rishabh Pant quicky firing 38 runs in just 16 deliveries and Chris Morris handy knock.
Later in the game, Delhi Daredevils bowlers struck early to put Kolkata Knight Riders on backfoot but Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan stitched a crucial 110-run stand of just 72 ball for the fourth wicket.
However, it was Sanju Samson who managed to grab headlines. It was not his batting that won him praises but his superlative fielding which stunned the entire crowd.
The incident took place in the 19th over of the second innigs when Manish Pandey muscled it down the ground and manged get lot of height to the shot. The ball looked certain to cross the ropes but Sanju Samson had different plans.
The Delhi Daredevils batsman dived, caught the ball in the air and threw it in the safe zone to avoid a certain six. However, his world class effort was not enough to seal victory for Delhi Daredevils as Manish Pandey finished off the game in style in last over thriller.
