WATCH: Rohit Sharma hits maximum on one leg to debutant Oshane Thomas

That lone six hit by Rohit stole the show

In reply to West Indies’ huge 323-run total, India faced the blow when they lost Shikhar Dhawan too early in the first ODI in Guwahati on Sunday. However, skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma brutally punished the Caribbean bowlers thereafter.

After losing Dhawan in the second over, Sharma and Kohli piled up 100-plus runs within next 14 overs. While the skipper slammed at least 10 stunning boundaries, his deputy could only send the ball beyond the boundary line for 4 times (3 fours, 1 six). However, that lone six hit by Rohit stole the show.

In the last ball of the sixth over, debutant Oshane Thomas bowled a short delivery which came in the right area for the Hitman. The pull-shot specialist swivelled and helped it on its way on one leg over the long leg are for a maximum.

Here’s the video:

In the next few overs, Kohli brought up his 49th ODI fifty in just 35 balls while Indian managed to put 127 runs in the first 20 overs and needed 197 more to win.
