WATCH: Dhoni keeps the match ball and Twitterati speculate his retirement
Before announcing his retirement from Tests in 2014, he had taken the stumps with him despite the match ending in a draw
Mahendra Singh Dhoni usually picks up one of the three stumps after successfully finishing a match. But on Tuesday, after losing the ODI series 1-2 to England, the Indian wicketkeeper asked the on-field umpires for the match ball.
The incident was caught in camera and soon as the video surfaced on social media, it created a buzz with fans speculating his retirement from the limited overs as well.

This was an unusual event which the viewers came across on Tuesday after the completion of the match. In 2014, when Dhoni shockingly announced his retirement from the longest format of the game in Australia, he had taken the stumps with him despite the match ending in a draw.
Plzz Don't do this again @msdhoni pic.twitter.com/T2nitmxOAc

Well, it has been over 12 hours to that incident, but nothing has been heard from the former Indian skipper.
Meanwhile, fans on Twitter have already begun with their predictions on Dhoni’s career. Here’re some of the reactions:
