Mumbai Indians Cape Town Vs Joburg Super Kings Match Report
The 39-year old though had a torrid time in the match today as Rassie Van Der Dussen caused huge wreckage with his onslaught on the helpless Joburg Super Kings' bowlers who were completely left tormented by the 200-run opening stand between Van Der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton.
The former scored a magnificent ton as he was dismissed on 104 off 50 balls by Imran Tahir. However, the latter was completely unlucky as he missed out on his century by 2 runs as he was dismissed by Nandre Burger on the score of 98 off 49 balls. The pair did the non-recoverable damage as they pelted on runs and smashed the Joburg Super Kings bowlers for a 200-run stand within 15 overs.
The Faf Du Plessis-led side made a mini comeback of their own as their bowlers restricted further damage in the last five overs by restriciting the MI Cape Town for 243/5 at the end of 20 overs.
The bowlers hammered the final nail in the coffin as they gave Joburg Super Kings extremely hammering blow by dismissing the dangerous Reeza Hendricks for a duck and further reducing the Johannesburg side to 47/4 at the end of powerplay. Leus Du Plooy's antics couldn't prove to be of much concern to Keiran Pollard side as MI Cape Town defeated Joburg Super Kings by 98 runs.
