On This Day in 1989: Sachin Tendulkar Made His International Debut; BCCI Thanks Him For Inspiring Millions Across The Globe

Sachin Tendulkar makes international debut: BCCI shared a photo collage of India batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's first and last international game on social media.

The day November 15 is very special for cricket fans because on this day master blaster Sachin Tendulkar introduced himself on the field of cricket for the first time. Sachin made his international debut in Test cricket against Pakistan on 15 November 1989 at the age of 16. In this match played at  Karachi, Sachin scored 15 runs in the first innings. He was bowled by Waqar Younis. The special thing is that Waqar also made his debut in the same match.

How Sachin Tendulkar batted in his debut game?

Sachin, who scored 15 runs in his first match, did something incredible in the Sialkot Test of the same series, after which the legendary players had called him a 'player to watch out for' in future. When Sachin was batting in the last Test match played in Sialkot, a lethal delivery from Pakistan's fast bowler Waqar Younis hit Sachin's nose. His face bled as he fell on the ground. When the medical staff reached Sachin for help, he refused.

Seeing the condition of Sachin, Wasim Akram thought that Sachin might leave the crease after being so injured but it did not happen. In the next over, Sachin smashed Waqar Younis for two brilliant fours. In that match, he played a brilliant innings of 57 runs. World class Pakistani bowlers were also defeated by the courage shown by Sachin at the age of just 16.

BCCI Pays Tribute To Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar

BCCI shared a photo collage of India batting legend Tendulkar's first and last international game on Twitter. "#OnThisDay 1989 - @sachin_rt made his debut in international cricket 2013 - The legend walked out to bat for #TeamIndia one final time Thank you for inspiring billions across the globe," the BCCI captioned the photo.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar had a great international cricket that spanned for 24 years and it was so remarkable that every single achievement of his in the game of cricket made him immortal.

On this day, Sachin also scored 74 runs in his last Test against West Indies. This was Sachin's farewell test, leaving the BCCI, Indian cricket team and the limelight. After the match, fellow players paid tribute to Sachin.
