WATCH: No Pakistan! Sachin Tendulkar Names His Top Four For ODI World Cup 2023 Season

ODI World Cup 2023: Sachin Tendulkar hasn't picked Pakistan, world's number two ranked ODI team, in his top four list.

ODI World Cup 2023 in India: Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest batters of all time, also the highest run-getter in tournament's history, has picked the top four teams for ODI World Cup 2023 season. Surprisingly, the legendary cricketer hasn't picked Pakistan, world's number two ranked ODI team, in his top four list. Sachin's top four teams for ODI World Cup 2023 are New Zealand, England, India and Australia.

The 2023 season of ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 started with a match between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad on Thursday (October 5). New Zealand humiliated the defending champions in the tournament opener, beating England by a huge margin of 9 wickets. Devon Conway (152) and Indian-origin Rachin Ravindra (123) scored unbeaten tons as the Black Caps chased down the 283-run target in just 36.2 overs.

"India, without any doubt. Like I said, we have a very very good balanced team. Good fielding side, side which can run well between the wickets. So good, strong all-round team. So is the case with Australia, I feel. They have a balanced team. Experience and youth combined. The third one would be, I would say, England. I think England again is a very strong team. Again, a combination of experienced players and some new faces. Beautifully balanced. My fourth team would be New Zealand. They have played the finals in 2015 and 2019. So, if you look at their track record, New Zealand in world championships they have always done well, and I see them getting into semis," he said.

Sachin Tendulkar's top for teams for ODI World Cup 2023 - New Zealand, England, India and Australia - were also the semi-finalists in 2019 ODI World Cup. If these four teams become semi-finalists this year, it will be first-time ever in ODI World Cup history when the same four teams will play back-to-back semi-finals in a World Cup edition.
