IPL: BCCI Lifts Life Ban On Ankeet Chavan, Who Was Involved In Spot-Fixing Scandal.

BCCI has lifted the life ban imposed on Ankeet Chavan for spot-fixing. Ankeet Chavan was found guilty of spot-fixing while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. Ankeet Chavan may return to playing cricket after serving a seven-year ban.

The BCCI has relieved cricketer Ankeet Chavan, who was convicted in the IPL spot-fixing case. Ankeet Chavan was found guilty in a spot-fixing scandal during the IPL in 2013 and was serving a life ban. But the BCCI has now ended this ban.

The BCCI informed Ankeet Chavan that his life ban has been reduced to seven years, following the court order. The seven-year ban imposed on Ankeet Chavan ended in September last year.

Confirming the development, Chavan said, "I am relieved. I can't wait any longer to get back on the ground. I thank the BCCI and Mumbai Cricket Association."

Sreesanth Returns To Competitive Cricket.

Chavan says he will try his best to return to the Mumbai team. The spin bowler said, "After the ban is lifted, I will go back on the ground and play. Whether or not I return to the Mumbai team, I will continue to play cricket. My job is to play cricket, and I will do everything I can to make a comeback."

Ankeet Chavan was found guilty of spot-fixing along with Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila while playing in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. The BCCI had imposed a life ban on all three players. However, the Supreme Court has reduced the life ban to seven years.

After completing the seven-year ban, Sreesanth has made a comeback to competitive cricket. According to reports, Chavan had been appealing to the BCCI for a year to lift the ban.

As per an update from BCCI, players will undergo a thorough test before leaving for the Sri Lanka tournament.
