IPL Auction 2020: Mike Hesson Reveals RCB's Bidding Strategy

Former Kings XI Punjab head coach Mike Hesson who is now the Director of Cricket Operations with RCB said the team is ready for the battle

If there is one team which needs extreme luck and some good picks in the auction, it is the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Having finished at the bottom of the points table in 2019, the franchise must come out all guns blazing in Kolkata on Thursday. Former Kings XI Punjab head coach Mike Hesson who is now the Director of Cricket Operations with RCB said the team is ready for the battle. “We have already been working for the past couple of months, which included doing mock auctions between us, which now has to reflect. Additionally, we have been doing lots of research work on players whom we have been interested in, like identifying the right role, we want people to play and we feel will fit the bill. “A lot also depends on how far you want to go with certain players keeping in mind the budget. Virat has been part of the process and we will be in touch with him during the break of the auction. Simon, Virat and I have been part of lots of meeting. Also, to name a few players whom I feel might be collecting big paycheques are, Robin (Uthappa) and young Tom Banton,” he said. In a video tweeted by RCB, Kohli assured fans that the franchise is going to cover all bases and build a strong team for the 2020 season.
