India vs Bangladesh: Fans Demand Cancellation Of Cricket Series Over Violence Against Hindus In Bangladesh

India vs Bangladesh: A section of the fans are not too pleased with India's home series against Bangladesh amid violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

While a section of the cricket fans in India are happy that they would finally be able to watch the Indian men's cricket team (ICT) in action after a rare month-long break in the international cricket calendar for Team India, there is another group who are not happy that the Bangladesh cricket team are touring India. 

Notably, a few fans on social media have demanded that Team India's cricket series against Bangladesh should be cancelled because of the violence against Hindus In Bangladesh. As reported by ABP Live earlier, since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, over 1000 houses and business establishments of the minority community have either been damaged in communal clashes.

At least 22 places of worship of the minority religious sect in Bangladesh have reportedly come under attack, claims a report carried by Prothom Alo. Amid all this, some fans in India are not pleased with the fact that cricket series involving two Test matches and three T20Is will be played between India and Bangladesh. They even took to social media to share their views with ‘Cancel_Bangladesh_Series’ also being one of the trends on X.

Kanpur Test To Go Ahead Despite Protest Threats

Notably, while there have been threats issued by the Hindu Mahasabha claiming that they will be protesting if the India vs Bangladesh Test happens in Kanpur and even disrupt the venue, the second Test currently remains on schedule.

"The match is not going anywhere—it will be held in Kanpur. However, we will continue to keep an eye on developments, both in Kanpur and at the other venues," a senior BCCI official told Sports Tak.

India vs Bangladesh series commences on September 19 with the first Test in Chennai.
