India’s ICC brand ambassador Harbhajan Singh arrives in England


New Delhi: Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan has arrived in England ahead of Champions Trophy 2017 which begins on Thursday. Harbhajan is among seven other cricketers named by the International Cricket Council as the champion Ambassadors for the prestigious event.


ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled from June 1-18 in England. The world cricket body named Shahid Afridi of Pakistan, Habibul Bashshar of Bangladesh, England’s Ian Bell, Shane Bond of New Zealand, Australia’s mike Hussey, South Africa’ Graeme Smith, Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka and Harbhajan Singh from India as the face for the cricket extravaganza.


All of the above players have dominated the world cricket and represented their country at the highest level. Harbhajan and Ian Bell are the only two who currently playing cricket while others have already bid retired from all formats of the game.


Champions Begins on Thursday with the hosts England battling out in tricky tie against Bangladesh. The Asian team will look forward to maintain the momentum as they outshined the England team 4 times in the past 7 encounters.


While, India begin their title defense against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4.
