India-Bangladesh ODI Series: Rohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Sen To Miss Third ODI Due To Injuries

Despite his injury, Rohit Sharma came out to bat and scored an unbeaten knock of 51 runs.

New Delhi: The Indian cricket team suffered a huge blow after skipper Rohit Sharma, pacers Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen were ruled out of the third and final One Day Internationals (ODI) match against Bangladesh due to injuries. Making the announcement on Wednesday, head coach Rahul Dravid said that Sharma will fly back to Mumbai to consult an expert, after which a call would be taken about his participation.

Expressing unhappiness over the injuries, Dravid said that the team has been unfortunate not to have the full squad at their disposal.

"Rohit will certainly miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consult with an expert and see how it is and whether he can come back for the Test matches or not, I'm not sure. It's too soon to say that", Dravid said during a post match press conference on Wednesday, as reported by news agency ANI.

While trying to catch a ball in Bangladesh's batting innings during the second ODI in Dhaka, Sharma got injured and walked off the field with a bleeding finger. However, he came back to bat at No 9 and slammed an unbeaten 51 off just 28 balls to take India to the brink off a win.

Deepak Chahar who only bowled three overs in the game was also ruled out along with Kuldeep Sen who didn't play on Wednesday.

"We are struggling with a few injuries as well which is not ideal and not easy for us. I think Deepak (Chahar) and Rohit (Sharma) will certainly miss the next match", Dravid said in the press conference.

Despite his injury, Rohit Sharma came out to bat and scored an unbeaten knock of 51 runs, whihc was the highlight of the match.

"It was phenomenal," Dravid said of Rohit's knock.

"I think for him to show that level of courage. He had a serious dislocation, he had to go to the hospital to get that set right, stitches in his hand, a couple of injections to go out and bat", said Dravid.
