ICC ODI Rankings: Rohit attains career-best spot, Rashid tops all-rounders chart

Displacing Shakib Al Hassan, Rashid Khan, the leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with 10 wickets, climbed six spots to attain the No.1 rank on the all-rounders’ chart

According to the ICC ODI ranking chart, Indian star batsman Rohit Sharma has now become the second-ranked batsman in the 50-overs format, achieving his career-best spot behind Virat Kohli. The right-handed opener, who lead the side as the skipper had a successful Asia Cup 2018 in which he finished as the second highest run-getter, scoring 317 runs in five matches.

Meanwhile, his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan who was the highest run getter and player of the tournament gained four spots. Dhawan topped the scoring charts in the tournament with 342 runs in the five games and two centuries to his name.

In the bowler’s ranking, displacing Shakib Al Hassan, Rashid Khan, the leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with 10 wickets, climbed six spots to attain the No.1 rank on the all-rounders’ chart. Kuldeep Yadav, attaining his highest career rating of 700, gained huge steps jumping to third rank in the ICC bowlers ranking. 

The team rankings had no changes with England still heading the list followed by India at second place.
