The Brutalist tells the story of architect László Toth, who moves to America to rebuild both his career and his marriage. The film stars Adrian Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, and Joe Alwyn, among others. Directed and produced by Brady Corbet, he also co-wrote the screenplay with Mona Fastvold.
Meanwhile, this marks Payal Kapadia's second loss at the Golden Globes this year. All We Imagine As Light was also defeated by Emilia Pérez in the Best Motion Picture-Non-English Language category. This loss is significant for India, as Payal Kapadia could have become the first Indian female director to win in this category. However, her nomination itself is a major achievement for Indian cinema.
