Fate Of Champions Trophy 2025 To Be Sealed On THIS Day Amid BCCI-PCB Standoff

ICC has now scheduled another crucial meeting for December 7, where the fate of Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to be decided.

The uncertainty surrounding ICC Champions Trophy 2025 continues as no decision was reached during December 5 meeting of ICC board members. Despite multiple discussions, including two prior meetings, the final verdict remains pending.

As per reports, ICC has now scheduled another crucial meeting for December 7, where the fate of Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to be decided. While the December 5 meeting aimed to address key issues, it ended without a resolution, leaving the cricketing world eagerly awaiting the outcome of the upcoming discussions.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule, initially expected to be announced by November 12, has been delayed due to ongoing dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the tournament's venues.

PCB insists that all matches of the event should take place exclusively in Pakistan, reflecting their hosting rights. However, BCCI has maintained a firm stance, advocating for a hybrid model in which the Indian team would play its matches, including the semifinal and final, at a neutral venue. This disagreement has left the tournament's scheduling in limbo, with IND-PAK fans eagerly awaiting a resolution.

Earlier reports suggested that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had agreed to a hybrid model for ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India would play its matches at a neutral venue (Dubai International Cricket Stadium most likely).

However, PCB has reportedly attached several conditions to this agreement. Check below...

Boycott of ICC Event Matches in India: PCB won't participate in matches held in India during upcoming ICC tournaments.

Compensation for CT matches moved out of Pakistan: A demand for heavy compensation from ICC, especially for relocating five games outside Pakistan, including India vs Pakistan match originally planned in Lahore.

Tri-Series Involvement: PCB wants India to participate in a tri-series with Pakistan and another nation, played at a neutral venue.

Separate Groups for India and Pakistan: PCB has requested that India and Pakistan be placed in separate groups for Champions Trophy 2025. Currently, both teams are grouped together in Group A with New Zealand and Bangladesh.
