Big Bash League 2023-24: Melbourne Renegades have decided to retire their number 5 shirt in honour of the retiring Australian batsman Aaron Finch. The former T20 World Cup winning captain had already announced his international retirement back in 2021 and has now decided to hang his boots from all forms of cricket with his last fixture being against Melbourne Stars on Saturday, January 13.

Aaron Finch has had an exceptional career marred with few injury and fitness issues. The explosive batsman has often changed his batting position and play style for teams he has represented his entire career and stands as a true symbol and icon for the concept of a team player. The cricketer, potentially, will still be associated with the cricketing world as a commentator and a pudit.

Aaron Finch's Career In A Nutshell

Aaron Finch has been an ODI World Cup winner with Australia in 2015 and a T20I World Cup winner with Australia in 2021 (as a captain). He has registered a staggering amount of runs in all forms of cricket across the world. He even won the Big Bash League with Melbourne Renegades in 2018-19 season.
