Kyle Verreynne 100 vs Bangladesh: Kyle Verreyne brought up his 2nd Test hundred and with that, he propels South Africa towards the comfortable margin. The Proteas end their innings at 308 and hold a significant lead over the hosts, as Day 2 promises to produce a stellar final session.

Bangladesh are 19/2 at Tea on Day 2, as they have lost Shadnam Islam and Mominul Haque at the hands of Kagiso Rabada, who is enjoying a stellar first Test match after becoming the bowler to record 300 Test wickets in the fewest number of deliveries during the 1st innings.

In-order to avoid an innings defeat, Bangladesh needs to up the ante soon as conditions and pitch not going to get any better with progression of play.

Whereas for South Africa, the grit and determination showed by the lower order during the first innings are nothing short of positive signs for them in the red-ball cricket, as the nation aims to improve it's position in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table.

Here's How South Africa's 1st Innings Panned-Out

South Africa did well to restrict Bangladesh below 150 but found themselves under severe pressure after being reduced to 6-down at 108. South Africa ended Day 1 at 140/6 but started Day 2 on a different note, as the duo of Kyle Verreyne and Wiaan Mulder registered a partnership of 119, before the latter's dismissal.

South Africa lost consecutive wickets, as Keshav Maharaj departed for a golden duck, but Dane Piedt scored a vital 32 to help the Proteas get near a 200-run lead.

Kyle Verreyne's impressive knock ended at 114, as South Africa were bowled out for 308. Taijul Islam was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, as he registered his 12th 5-wicket haul in Tests.

Hasan Mahmud and Mehidy Hasan Miraz combined for the rest of the five wickets, but the hosts will definitely be ruing at the fact that they failed to bowl out South Africa for less than 200.
