New Delhi: When Josh Dunstan, a West Augusta B grade batsman, took to field one could have hardly imagined the merciless destruction that was about to take place. Dunstan ran riot has he smashed mammoth 307 runs in 35-over-a-side match against Central Stirling on Sunday.

Dunstan came to crease after a loss of early wicket and batting at No.3, he produced wondrously entertaining innings, plundering 40 sixes. His brilliant knock made up 86 percent of the West Augusta’s 354/9.

Interestingly, he put up 203-run stand for the seventh wicket with just 5 runs coming from his partner, Ben Russell.

A truck driver by profession, Dunstan, also admitted of having consumed a quite few beers a night before the game and credited it for his monumental innings.

“I’d had a few quiet beers with my mates the night before, so I wasn’t thinking about too much when I got out there other than hit the ball and try not to get out.”

“I’m known for hitting a lot of big sixes — I don’t want to run,” said Dunstan, according to new.com.au
